One of the main objectives of the
new European directives is to steer people in the
right direction with regard their own personal
security requirements.
For instance, if the overriding
security concern is the medical well being of an elderly person living
alone, then a security system that features on theft
ONLY would not be suitable. A system that ALSO
incorporates a medical emergency SOS facility would
be more suitable.
If a business
enterprise required insurance against theft and was
advised by an insurance broker, that they must have a security
system supplied and installed to EU50131 standards,
grade 3 - then a security system supplied and
installed to EU50131, grade 2 is NOT sufficient
(and could potentially invalidate the insurance policy).
