Mains RadioLINK Wireless Fire Alarm System
Interconnecting mains powered smoke alarms are essential to provide the earliest possible warning of a fire. Fire statistics show that the quicker occupants are alerted to a fire, the less risk of death or injury and damage to property is also reduced.

However, hard wired interconnection is expensive, time consuming and disruptive. Unsightly conduit has to be fitted or walls have to be hacked and ground out to lay fire resistant cables. A hard wired system is also difficult and expensive to reconfigure when circumstances (or standards) change.

RadioLINK is the solution.

With RadioLINK, mains powered smoke alarms are interconnected by wireless signals rather than cabling. It's so much simpler, more convenient - and easier to change or extend as and when required. The use of radio interconnection in Grade D fire alarm systems means that it is now much easier to comply with the extended alarm coverage recommended in British Standard BS5839: Pt.6: 2004.

With no interconnect wiring required, fixed costs can be agreed beforehand. This allows a quicker, simpler and more cost effective solution to smoke and heat alarm installation.

At the heart of the RadioLINK system are the base units (SD168). These are fully compatible with any of the RadioLINK series smoke and heat alarms.

Product Description:

Mains RadioLINK Ionisation Smoke Detector (Alkaline battery backup)

This is a Ionisation Smoke Alarm that runs on 230V AC mains power, and has a 9V alkaline battery back up in the event of mains failure. The 9V battery will last for up to 4 years in standby mode, and capable of powering the smoke detector for up to 2 years in the event of mains failure.

The system has other advanced features such as the ability to interconnect up to twelve alarms to allow all alarms to sound if just one of the interconnected alarms should be triggered.

The system has built in circuitry to aid suppression of voltage transients and radio interference to reduce the chances of false alarms.

The RadioLINK Base transmits a radio frequency alarm signal when the unit attached to it senses fire. When it receives a radio signal from another RadioLINK Base, the attached alarm will sound. It therefore eliminates the need to install long interconnect wires between all the alarms on different floors or in different rooms.

The base unit itself is also mains powered and has rechargeable lithium battery for back-up in the event of mains failure (SKU TL SD168).

The base will normally be wired to the nearest mains circuit in the ceiling (usually the lighting circuit). The alarm is then slid onto the base - as twelve units can be interconnected in this way

The radio range can be extensively improved by either adjusting the wire antenna or by converting the base into a repeater - which then extends the range.

The base unit has built in circuitry to aid suppression of voltage transients and radio interference.

Features

* Mains powered
* 9V Alkaline Battery back up
* High performance ionisation chamber
* Test/Hush button
* Advanced suppression and calibration technology
* Interconnect able to other RadioLINK mains powered alarms
* Low power cell warning
* Manufactured to BS5446-1:2000
* 5 year guarantee

For use exclusively with RadioLINK base unit!

* Price excludes installation - quotation available on request!
